Law of the Land

Affiliate Disclosure & Review Policy

At Referral Republic, we want you to know exactly how we operate. Transparency isn’t a feature—it’s part of the law of the land here. This page explains how we earn money, how we choose what to recommend, and what you can expect from every review and guide we publish.

How We Earn Money

Some of the links on our site are affiliate links. This means:

  • If you click a link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission.
  • You never pay extra because of our links.
  • In some cases, our partnerships may unlock better deals or bonuses for you.

Whenever a link is an affiliate link, we treat it as an agreement: if we recommend something, it has to be genuinely useful, honest, and aligned with our values around people and the planet.

Our Review Principles

When we review or recommend a product, service, or tool, we focus on:

  • Real Value: Does this actually solve a problem or make life better?
  • Long-Term Usefulness: Is it durable, reliable, and likely to stay helpful over time?
  • Ethical & Environmental Impact (when we can assess it): Does the company at least attempt responsible practices? Is this a mindful purchase or just more clutter?
  • User Experience: Is it easy to use, accessible, and reasonably supported?
  • Honesty: We share pros and cons. Not every product is perfect—and we’ll say so.

We do not sell “guaranteed positive” reviews or accept payments in exchange for hiding negative information.

Our Process In Simple Steps

Research & Shortlist

We look at product specs, brand reputation, user feedback, and alternatives to understand the landscape.

Hands-On Use (When Possible)

When we can, we actually use or test the product or tool. If we haven’t used it personally, we’ll be clear about that and rely on a mix of expert and user feedback.

Compare Alternatives

We don’t just look at one option in a vacuum. We compare it against other choices in the same category, including budget-friendly and more sustainable options where available.

Issue the “Republic Verdict”

Each recommendation gets a clear takeaway: who it’s best for, where it shines, and where it falls short. If it doesn’t meet our standards, it doesn’t make it into the Republic.

Sponsored Content & Partnerships

From time to time, we may work directly with brands. When that happens:

  • Sponsored content will be clearly labeled as such.
  • We maintain full editorial control over our opinions.
  • We only partner with brands that align with our people-and-planet values.
  • Partnership does not guarantee a positive review or placement.

Updates & Changes

The internet, tools, and companies change fast. When prices, features, or policies change significantly, we aim to:

  • Update important guides and reviews, or
  • Add notes indicating what has changed and when.

If you spot something outdated, you’re always welcome to let us know—citizens keep the Republic strong.

Your Trust Matters Most

Without your trust, Referral Republic doesn’t exist. That’s why:

  • We’d rather lose a commission than recommend something we don’t believe in.
  • We continuously refine our standards around ethics and sustainability as better options appear.
  • We’re open to feedback and questions about how we review or why we recommend what we do.

If you ever have questions about our recommendations, partnerships, or review process, reach out via our contact page—we’re happy to explain how we arrived at a verdict.
